1968

Dundee Volleyball Club was formed as Dundee
College of Education by students of Primary Teacher training.

1969

For the first time a team entered the Scottish Cup which was held over one day in Bell’s Sports Centre, Perth.
Dundee entered the National League for the first time.

1970

Dundee VC became an open club and plays first game against Bergen University.
The club home venue moved to Kirkton Community Centre and became Dundee Kirkton Volleyball Club.
Dundee Kirkton reached the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

1971

Frank Leighton wins first cap v Norway in Edinburgh.
Norway edge out the Scots 2-3

1973

John Scrimgeour wins his first cap v Austria in Vienna.
Austria defeat the Scots 0-3

1974

Fingerprint Trophy held for the first time….won by Dundee Kirkton.
Dundee Kirkton won the National League and reach their first cup final.
Dundee Kirkton won British Championship beating Spark in the final at Bishopbriggs Sports Centre to win the Granwood Trophy.
Four Dundee Kirkton players in the Scotland Team…Frank Leighton,  Gus Leighton, Stevie Black and John Scrimgeour.
March – Gus Leighton wins his first cap v England in Edinburgh.  Scots are triumphant 3-0. October – Stevie Black wins his first cap v Iceland.  Scots are triumphant 3-0. Dundee legend Frank Leighton is Captain of the Scotland Team
